CITYLINK TICKET SEARCH

> > SUMMARY

Redesigning the search facility for the Citylink website to resolve confusion.

> > THE PROBLEM

As I rushed a journey search on the Citylink website I noticed I had somehow missed something vital and the system would not let me proceed. I had somehow not selected any passengers. How did I manage this? When I went back I noticed that the passenger selection options were in a column of their own, over to the right-hand side, in a different coloured box. I tested it with a few other people and found that the majority experienced the very same issue I had. So I decided to look at improving it.

> > ORGINAL LAYOUT

Below is the original Citylink search feature with the passenger selection section to the right-hand side with a different coloured, darker blue background. It almost appears to be a seperate, unrelated feature.

> > MINIMAL CHANGES

With a couple of very minimal changes, the new version below does two things. By making the entire background the same colour it unifies the options and ensures even when rushing through the selections you don't miss the passenger selection section. Secondly, moving the "Search for Coach Times and Fares" button over to the centre also unifies the entire search panel. Again, ensuring that the passenger selection option is not missed out as it is clearer it is part of the same process.
